My Darkest Red is a new dark'n'roll band founded by musicians from two early 2000s bands, Poisonheart and Dreamhunter
This new project features a powerful mix of classic hard'n'heavy and the decadent, dark wave atmosphere all wrapped in a cloak of gothic darkness. My Darkest Red combine several genres that are rarely mixed together, taking you on a journey, from dusk till dawn, exploring different moods. From heavier songs to dark ballads, from arena-anthems to gothic atmospheres, “Midnight Supremacy” aims to honour the golden era of hard'n'heavy, but with the awareness of those who live in the present. The My Darkest Red universe has various facets, but the lyrics of their debut album will mainly take you into the atmosphere of old ghost stories, combined with a passion for ‘80s and ‘90s horror movies. Get ready for stories of gothic darkness, love, death and revenge!

"Midnight Supremacy" has been released on September 27,
2024, on Sneakout Records (Burning Minds Music Group).
It is
distributed worldwide by Plastic Head Music Distribution.
The CD booklet features the introductory liner notes written by Matteo Piotto
(Meltalhead.it).
Special guests include Mickey E.Vil (The Mugshots) on keyboards.
The album was recorded at Sonic Bang Studio in Isorella (Italy) under the
guidance of Oscar Burato.
The cover artwork was designed by acclaimed Italian photographer Michele
Gusmeri.
The band states: "In our previous recording experiences, we’ve never been afraid to experiment. But in this project we combine several genres that are rarely mixed together, to satisfy a wider pool of listeners. We’ll take them on a journey, from dusk till dawn, exploring different moods. From heavier songs to dark ballads, from arena-anthems to gothic atmospheres; the common theme of this album is melody, even on the most aggressive tracks. The lyrics show our love for old horror movies and gothic literature. Our debut album aims to honour the golden era of hard'n'heavy, but with the awareness that we are in 2024. We’re proud of this achievement. For us, it represents a further evolution of our journey as musicians, showing our passion, stubbornness, and love for music."

Guitarist Andrea Gusmeri states: "The House On The Hill tells a story shrouded in mystery and terror. Imagine an old abandoned house on a hill, a place where something dark has found a home, but is hard to stay away. The song features a solid hard rock base, on which Mickey E.Vil's evocative keyboards and some eerie breaks have been added, resulting in a malignant and intriguing blend of energy. Because of the "horror" power it is able to unleash, we chose this song as the opener of our record. The house on the hill is waiting for you!"

Bassist Andrea Verginella states: "This song was written many years ago by our singer and had been locked in a drawer for a long time. We rewrote the arrangement from scratch, but the vocal line and guitar chords remain the same. Everything else was completely revamped and adapted to the album's mood. The result has a melancholic and dark feeling. The bass line and the final guitar solo are inspired by the atmospheres you can hear on some of Bowie's records from the 70s. Fabio's intense vocal performance is the disillusioned chant of a survivor who doesn't give up seeking to communicate with the most alive and truest parts of human beings."

Singer Fabio Perini states: "By The Moonlight was one of the first songs written for our debut. I started composing the vocal line, and then I wrote the rhythm guitar part. We arranged the track in our rehearsal room, and every member of the band contributed. The final result was so good that we had no doubts in choosing it as the first single. In our opinion, it offers a glimpse into our musical style of deep and dark vocal parts, a pulsating rhythm section, melodic guitar riffs and solos. Organ and piano sheets add extra layers of darkness and melody to the track. The lyrics are intentionally vague so that everyone can interpret them according to his or her sensibility. In this case, the narrator seems to be interacting with someone, wondering about the meaning of a (eternal?) life in solitude, unfulfilled dreams, and remembering a happier time. Moonlight provides a backdrop to these moments of hope (or madness?) with the narrator lost in distant memories. Or perhaps he’s hoping to bring back the object of his longing, through a ritual that will resurrect his spirit."
